Office of the Vice Provost for Online Education

The Office of the Vice Provost for Online Education is led by Dr. Renata S. Engel and is responsible for all aspects of Penn State World Campus as well as development and coordination of the vision, strategies, policies, and practices for online education offered by Penn State. By providing convenient, flexible programs, ranging from online undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificates to massive open online courses, Penn State aims to help learners achieve their educational goals throughout their careers. The Office of the Vice Provost for Online Education houses the following units that support Penn State World Campus and online education: academic affairs, student affairs, faculty development, enrollment management, and administrative and strategic operations. In addition, the office is supported by cross-unit services in marketing, information technology, finance and operations, human resources, and development.

Through an array of programs and innovative delivery methods, we help individual learners, businesses, and communities accomplish their goals and achieve more. Our aim is to broaden and inspire minds, strengthen communities, positively impact society, promote quality of life, and ultimately support the University’s mission.
